eDrive system
Customer challenge
The off-highway industry is transitioning towards electrification to meet stringent emission regulations, improve energy efficiency, and reduce operational costs. However, integrating electric traction solutions presents several key challenges:
- Complex system integration – Multiple components such as motors, inverters, gearboxes and controllers must seamlessly work together.
- Diverse technical expertise required – Combining knowledge in electrical engineering, software development, thermal management and mechanical integration is essential.
- Optimization of performance and durability – Ensuring robust performance in demanding off-highway environments while maintaining efficiency.
- Reduction of development time and costs – Streamlining the design process to accelerate time-to-market and minimize engineering expenses.
System description
Our E-Drive Solutions provide high-performance electric traction systems designed for off-highway applications. The offering includes:
- Single-motor traction systems – A central motor drives one axle or both axles via a gearbox.
- Dual-motor traction systems – One motor per axle (front and rear) for enhanced power distribution.
- Dual In-wheel motor traction system – 2 motors (left and right wheel) with speed and torque differential management
- 4 In-wheel motor traction system – One motor per wheel with perfect speed and torque management for ultra-mobility and precise control.
These solutions combine state-of-the-art electric motors, inverters, gearboxes and our “Kinell e-Drive ECU” to deliver optimal efficiency, durability, and seamless integration into various vehicle architectures.
Our “e-Drive ECU” ensures precise control over the traction system. This electronic control unit contains pre-validated control software, ready for safety applications while remaining configurable to meet specific customer requirements. It enables optimal torque distribution, dynamic traction adjustments, and seamless integration with vehicle management systems.
