Precision farming
Precision farming partner for agricultural machinery manufacturers
Agricultural machinery manufacturers face a dual challenge: reducing emissions while ensuring maximum precision in field operations (spraying, harvesting, sowing, etc.).
At Kinell, we combine our expertise in:
- High and low voltage (HV/LV) cabling for machine electrification,
- Power Distribution Units (PDUs) and reliable energy management solutions,
- eDrive and eCoupling for electric transmission and clean motorisation,
- Sensors, embedded software and ISOBUS connectivity for precise control and advanced automation,
- Customised electrical cabinets incorporating power electronics and flashed computers (STW).
Our goal: to offer manufacturers robust, scalable systems that are compatible with industry standards, in order to accelerate the deployment of new generations of more sustainable and efficient agricultural machinery.
Typical applications in precision farming

Powered machinery
Connectivity and task control, compatible with agricultural platforms
Implements
Communicate to all tractor brands with confidence
Agricultural robots
Outsource non-differentiating software modules
Technologies for connected and automated agriculture
Powered machines
Kinell designs and supplies complete systems for tractors, harvesters, sprayers and other powered agricultural systems, including connectivity gateways, task controllers and interface screens (HMIs).
Implements
Implements such as planting, tillage, irrigation, crop protection and harvesting can all be augmented by electronic control, but they must connect and communicate seamlessly with any brand of tractor. That means that the communications must adhere strictly to the ISObus standard.
When Kinell work with an implement manufacturer, we advise on the technical feasibility and prioritisation of features and develop a project plan that can be executed to time and to budget.
Agricultural robots
Many great agricultural robotic startups are emerging, bringing innovative ideas for increasing yields and reducing the environmental impact of farming. The startups that we speak with often have small teams and need to be careful with their limited investment capital. That means that they choose to focus their own development resources on the modules that are core to their customers and rely on us as a source of proven software blocks for the remaining functions. This means a faster time to market, a reduced project risk, and a lower total software cost.
Modules such as connectivity, path selection, object avoidance or propulsion are common choices for outsourcing to Kinell.
Why collaborate with Kinell
On your precision farming product
- ISObus (ISO 11783) compatibility
A mature, validated, certified ISObus stack to ensure interoperability. - Flexibility of project scope
You choose where you need our engineering skills and products. You may need an entire system or just one controller, or just one software module. - Fast time to market – Using off-the shelf hardware and software modules reduces the development team. Agriculture doesn’t wait. Testing needs to be done in a defined season and working with us gives you the best chance of meeting your deadlines.
- Project risk minimisation – Working with an experienced team, who have been delivering machine connectivity and precision farming projects for more than 14 years.

Our ISObus
ISO 11783 controllers
Wireless gateway controller (TCU)
Facilitates seamless wireless communication and data exchange between farm equipment and external systems, enhancing connectivity and efficiency.
Task controller with section control (TC-SC)
Automatically manages section cutting to optimize seed and crop protection product placement, reducing waste and enhancing productivity.
Auxiliary control – new generation (AUX-N)
Integrate tractor Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) for precise control of equipment, improving operational accuracy and flexibility.
Basic task controller (TC-BAS)
Provides data in ISO-XML format for efficient data exchange between the farm management system and task controller.
Implement control unit (ICU)
This is the primary controller on an implement that manages its specific functions and operations. It acts as the implement’s brain, coordinating all tasks and ensuring proper execution.
Universal terminal
(UT)
Control any implement or manage multiple devices from a single interface, streamlining operations with one terminal for all equipment.
Geo-referenced data task controller (TC-GEO)
Utilize geo-referenced maps to obtain data or plan and execute geo-referenced tasks with precision and accuracy.
