Kinell to present its low-carbon marine propulsion solutions at Euromaritime

At Euromaritime, Kinell will present its offering for professional marine decarbonisation, covering electric and hybrid propulsion, hydrogen systems, energy management, safety and certification support.

Marine capabilities brought into the Kinell offering

Following the launch of Kinell in May 2025 for off-highway machines and special vehicles, FÉTIS Group extended the brand to include its technology and decarbonisation activities for professional marine applications. The move forms part of the group’s strategy to bring its low-carbon capabilities together within one international offering.

Based in Nantes on the banks of the Loire, the marine activity specialises in the integration of onboard propulsion and power-generation systems. Its work includes river and coastal vessels, typically with power ratings from 50 to 1,000 kW, as well as offshore applications involving onboard power supply or propulsion.

A system-level approach to marine decarbonisation

A low-carbon vessel project involves more than selecting an engine, battery or fuel cell. The energy architecture, equipment, control software, safety requirements, regulatory compliance and operating profile must be addressed together.

Kinell draws on synergies between off-highway mobility, on-site energy and marine technology. This approach can also include related infrastructure such as shore-based energy generation, storage and material-handling equipment when these elements form part of a customer’s wider decarbonisation plan.

Solutions on display

At Euromaritime, Kinell will present technologies that can be selected and integrated according to the mission and operating constraints of professional vessels:

• fully electric propulsion systems;
• hybrid architectures;
• hydrogen fuel-cell propulsion;
• energy management systems (EMS);
• safety and certification support.

The stand will also feature PROMETEO, an electro-hydrogen catamaran of less than 24 metres developed with Green Navy. Kinell acted as the energy systems integrator for the project, with responsibility for the overall architecture, hydrogen safety and management of the certification process.
