Our solution: Combine the generator and the BESS.
Kinell’s hybrid solution optimizes power management through a smart, automated process. The generator activates only when necessary, supplying power to the site, while simultaneously charging the BESS with any excess energy. Once the BESS batteries reach full capacity, the generator automatically switches off, allowing the BESS to take over and deliver silent, clean power to the site.
When the BESS batteries are nearly depleted, the system intelligently restarts the generator, ensuring continuous energy supply without interruption. This approach ensures that the generator operates only during essential charging cycles, drastically reducing runtime, fuel consumption, and emissions.
On sites where we implemented this hybrid solution, power measurements revealed a dramatic reduction in generator runtime. Diesel generators operated for just 35 minutes per day, compared to the traditional 24/7 operation ; while the BESS units autonomously powered site facilities for the remaining 23 hours and 25 minutes. This not only slashes fuel costs and carbon emissions, but also eliminates noise pollution, creating a sustainable, efficient, and hassle-free energy solution for modern construction sites or events.
